Art the Clown is ready to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they sleep peacefully on Christmas Eve. Director Damien Leone has said that several major studios have shown interest in financing this film based on the unexpected success of Terrifier 2 (2022), even without a full script, but he has turned them all down because he is sure not would never let him film the opening scene alone, which he describes as «very controversial». Leone has commented that the only reason he can be so uncompromising in his depiction of horror and gore is because he finances his films independently, creates all the special effects himself to keep costs down, and has no major studio breathing on his neck to make more popular movie.. Mia mentions that the 5 year anniversary of the original massacre was coming up soon but it happened on Halloween and this movie taking place on Christmas 5 years later would mean that the anniversary it just passed 2 months ago.. Julia’s Brother: Julia, I thought I told you to stay away from -[Art kills him with the axe] . There is an uncut version of the film that runs 2 hours and 25 minutes with 5 additional scenes. Next comes Terrifier (2016). A work of art, written by Drew Fulk, Joe Occhiuti, Paul Wiley, Spencer Charnas and Steve Sopchak, performed by Ice Nine Kills and Shavo Odadjian. For gorehounds, Damien Leone’s 2016 offering «Terrifier» was a damn good time. A violent splash fest that didn’t try to be anything but, followed Art the Clown on a killer Halloween night spree. Its follow-up, 2022, ‘Terrifier 2,’' it was an improvement in almost every way: bigger, funnier, and bloodier. Both films were critically acclaimed (from a certain kind of critic, that is) and did good business at the box office. Self-financed, the first two «Terrificator» by Leone. The movies are scary, scary, great guignol masterpieces. Maybe 'Terrifying 3' does it live up to its predecessors? The third installment in the franchise once again follows everyone’s favorite mute psychopath, Art the Clown. It’s Christmas, and together with his newly born head (watch the second movie for that to make sense) and resplendent in a Santa suit, Art goes on another killing spree. Meanwhile, Sienna Shaw – the heroine of «Terrifier 2» – tries to move on with her life after a close shave with the evil clown five years earlier. Art, however, has other plans for Sienna. 'Terrifier 3' it is not an insightful film. It has no message, explores no themes, and contains no satirical weight. Leone is not interested in that. He’s not trying to do ‘It Follows,’' or 'Smile,' or 'Rosemary’s Baby.' He doesn’t want to make a horror with depth and nuance. He wants to make a splash show; a celebration of blood, guts and gore. He aims to outdo other horror directors by upping the ante when it comes to carnage, throwing everything including the kitchen sink and the plumber at viewers in an attempt to deliver chills and chills. He succeeds. Armed with a bigger budget than before, Leone puts together an extremely brutal festival that is a worthy addition to «Terrifier»; the franchise. It’s wilder, funnier and darker than its predecessors. Over-the-top and excessively gory, if you expect Leone to operate within the confines of what is traditionally called ‘good taste,’' you will be bitterly disappointed. He doesn’t just push boundaries, he beats them and knocks them down with an ax to the head and a screwdriver to the spleen. That said, the scenes that don’t feature any violence are generally hammy, lacking power or drive.
